Friedrich Becker

Ever since his legendary 1989 vintage, Friedrich Becker has been one of the best red winemakers in Germany, and hardly any other can look back on such a continuous series of great Pinot Noirs. The Spatburgunder Reserve "Tafelwein" is a classic. 60% of Becker's production is Pinot Noir which is gown primarily on stony, chalky soil on the Alsatian side of the border & his wines are made "by instinct". The same instincts seem to have been transferred from the father Friedrich Becker to the son Friedrich (Fritz) Becker Junior who has taken over more & more responsibilities with his sister Helena.

For many years, Friedrich Becker has been one of the most prestigious producers of Pinot Noir & best Spatburgunder in Germany. And Friedrich Becker is the No.1 German Pinot Noir for 7 years by Gault Millau The Guide to German Wines.
