About this wine:
Teso La Monja represents the dawn of a new era in the Toro appellation. Eguren family has been the driving force behind the transformation of this region for over a decade.
Variety : 100 % Tinta de Toro. Masal selection of tinta de Toro perfectly adapted to the climate and soil.
Vineyards : 72 Has. young and middle aged, proprietary vineyards (Valdebuey and La Jara) situated in Valdefi njas and Toro (Za- mora). Head-trained in goblet and in trellis. Altitude: 750 - 850 m.
Integrated viticulture, respectful of the environment and in harmony with the rhythms of nature. Organic fertilization.
Elaboration : Traditional method, 100% destemmed, with light pump-overs during fermentation. Malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels and in tank. Aged 6 months in french oak bordelaise barrels, “2 wine” barrels.
Tasting notes : Cherry red colour with violet tones. Suggestive aromas of red fruits on a fl oral background. Pleasant in the mouth, weight of fruit well balanced with acidity. Clean fi nish with light spicy notes in the aftertaste.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The approachable, aromatic and fruit-driven 2023 Románico is direct and gentle without losing the personality and essence of the place. It comes from their younger vines and matured in used French oak barrels for six months. It's peachy and velvety, with a juicy mouthfeel and very fine tannins. They had to select the grapes and produced less, 95,000 bottles. It was bottled in December 2024."
