About this wine:
At the foot of the Sierra that gives its name to the winery and that protects our estates from the cold north winds, appears San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a town of great winemaking tradition, where Sierra Cantabria wines are born with a distinctive.
Variety : Sauvignon Blanc (30%), Viura (20%), Tempranillo Blanco (36%), Malvasía (7%) and Maturana (7%).
Vineyards : Proprietary vineyards located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Integrated viticulture, respectful of the environment and in harmony with the rhythms of nature.
Winemaking : Maceration: Cold soaked during 8 hours Fermentation: Sauvignon Blanc is fermented in French oak barrels (Vosgues area) 50% from 1 wine and 50% from a 2 wine. Viura, Tempranillo Blanco, Malvasía and Maturana fermented in stainless steel, toasting type Burgundy Medium-High. Temperature controled between 14 and 16º C. Fermented with autochthonous yeast selected from our own vineyards.
Tasting Notes : Pale yellow with bright tones. Expressive nose of white fruits (apple), hints of citrus and nuances of spring fl owers. Immaculate, fresh and juicy on the palate with a rounded fi nish.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The pale and young 2024 Blanco was produced with a multi-grape blend of 30% Tempranillo Blanco, 30% Viura, 25% Sauvignon Blanc, 8% Malvasía Riojana and 7% Maturana Blanca that fermented and matured in stainless steel, save for half of the Sauvignon Blanc that spent a couple of months in oak barrels. But its profile is of a young, fruit-driven, clean and unoaked white with notes of white fruit and flowers, quite aromatic, with an exotic touch. It's faintly balsamic, with a medium-bodied palate and focused flavors. 25,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2024."
