About this wine :

James Suckling - "Explosive and fascinating nose of persimmon, honeysuckle and wild herbs! As succulent as it is vibrant, this remarkable riesling Kabinett has a stunning balance of generous fruit and minerality on the concentrated yet light-bodied palate. Very zesty blood orange and pink grapefruit finish that’s long and expressive."

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The openhearted 2021 Goldloch Riesling Kabinett opens to ripe and lush as well as well concentrated yellow stone fruit aromas intertwined with coolish and spicy notes of crushed rocks. Pure, saline and refined on the palate, this is a mouth-filling Kabinett with ripe and lush fruit but also crystalline acidity that cuts the fruit into mineral-scented slices. Aged in large, traditional oak, this is an excellent and moutwatering Kabinett from a grand cu vineyard. 8% stated alcohol."

Falstaff - "Grated lemon peel, slate spice. In the mouth, a humorless, crisp acidity and a defensive sweetness play around, the taste is almost dry. The wine has length and intensity, but is also exhilaratingly light and fresh."

About SCHLOSSGUT DIEL :

Schlossgut Diel in Germany is located in the Nahe wine region & has a history dating back to 1802. The winery joined the VDP association In 1989 (an association exclusive to the highest quality wineries), thus establishing itself among the top ranks of the wine industry. The winery is renowned for its elegant, delicate, balanced & rich style. Their Riesling white wine has long been acclaimed, while their Pinot Blanc white wines, sparkling wines & Pinot Noir red wines have also garnered significant attention. The wines are rich yet extremely delicate, a true expression of the estate’s “power without weight” style. Schlossgut Diel has long been recognized as one of Germany's finest wineries, receiving high praise from wine critics & professional institutions worldwide. They have won numerous awards, including recognition from Robert Parker, James Suckling, Wine Spectator, Gault Millau & others. It is definitely worth a try!

The Schlossgut Diel vineyards, castle and winery are of great historical significance. The winery was purchased by the Diel family in 1802 from Baron Dalberg, who had managed to prevent its confiscation by Napoleon’s troops in 1789. Today the winery is owned by prominent gourmand and wine aficionado Armin Diel, who made the estate famous in the late 1980s. This family estate owns 3 top sites in the Village of Dorsheim, the Goldloch, Burgberg and Pittermännchen, all were classified as Grand Cru in the historic Prussian Classification Map from 1901. Diel is one of few who still vinifies each Grosses Gewächs site at each Pradikät. Schlossgut Diel’s wines are famous for their finest and grace as well as their beautiful harmony between fruit and mineral.

Since 2006, Caroline Diel – the daughter of Armin who learned wine-making at Germany’s most famous wine university, Geisenheim, as well as at famous estates such as Château Pichon Lalande and Domaine de la Romanée Conti – has been responsible for the vineyard and cellar work. From then on, the already superb wines from this estate have become even more refined and elegant.
