About this wine:

This wine is crafted from 100% Tempranillo that the vines are over 40 years old, the grapes are foot-pressed twice a day during fermentation. It undergoes a 24-month aging process in new French oak barrels. It is full-bodied with a deep purple red color. The aromas of ripe cherries, fully ripe blackberries, blueberries, and blackcurrants are intense. On the palate, it is certainly well-structured offering a rich and opulent texture, with prominent flavors of fully ripe berries accompanied by hints of minerals, licorice, and baking spices, creating a well-balanced blend of fruit and oak. The acidity is medium and strong yet surprisingly refined tannins, with a long-lasting finish dominated by fully ripe black fruits. While still relatively young, this wine showcases a balanced profile and will benefit from extended breathing time. It has exceptional aging potential. With an annual production of 5,000 bottles, this meditation wine can be enjoyed on its own or paired with rich, braised meats.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "Surprisingly enough, the 2019 Amancio feels fresher, younger and with more integrated oak and finer tannins than the 2018 I tasted next to it, a bit of a contradiction, because the style of the vintages should normally mean the opposite. It is medium to full-bodied, with fine tannins and nice balance. 5,000 bottles were filled in February 2022."

James Suckling - "A riper style of Rioja with modern, wooded tannins that give this wine a sleek and firm texture. Lots of blue fruit and blackberries on the palate. Chewy, yet polished."
